Bathurst – Paul Doucet, 69, of Beresford and formerly of Bathurst, passed away on Thursday (October 3, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Ligouri and Pauline (Rioux) Doucet.
He was employed at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill until his retirement. He enjoyed his bowling league, his time spent at Gowan Brae Golf Club, his many sport interest, and sitting with all his buddies at Tim Horton’s.
He is survived by his three children: Lisa Doucet (Mario Jodoin) of St-Jérome, Que., Carol Travers (Ray) of Fredericton and Philippe Doucet (Reese) of Sicamous, B.C.
Four grandchildren: James, Samuel, Amanda and Charlotte.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Patricia (Bill) Bannerman of Bedford, N.S., Raymond Doucet of Montreal, Que., Alfred (Deborah) Doucet of Fredericton, N.B., Elizabeth (Irwin) Shechtman of St-Lazare, Que. and Paula (John) Jarratt of Fredericton, N.B.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers: Eugene "Jamie", Richard "Rick" and his beloved partner, Agathe Brideau.
Paul will be missed by many.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (October 9, 2013) at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst.
