Bathurst - Aurèle Couture, 88, of Mt. Carmel St., Bathurst, passed away on Thursday (December 12, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Raymond and Emily (St.Pierre) Couture.
Aurele worked for Irving Oil until his retirement and was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie (Arseneau) Couture.
Two brothers: André Couture (Hazel) of Bathurst and Roméo Couture (Hilda) of Beresford.
Five sisters: Evangeline Chamberlain of Ontario, Laurina Doucet of Bathurst, Yvonne Chamberlain (Gérald) of Ontario, Violette Doucet (Aldéric) of Nigadoo and Juliette Lavigne (David) of Beresford. Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers: Wallace, Armand and a sister, Janita.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning (December 17, 2013) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St. Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Aurèle may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
