Heaven has come to take another one of their angels today.

Sydney Ernest Sealy, of Bathurst, NB, passed away peacefully in the presence of loving family members on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the age 69, at the Northern Lights Hospital in Fort McMurray.

Born in Bathurst, NB, Sydney was the son of the late Leo Ernest Sealy and Marie Clothilda Stever. Sydney was also predeceased by his brother, Barry, sister, Nancy and granddaughter, Jolene.

Sydney is survived by his loving daughters, Esther Kelly (Mike), Fort McMurray, AB, and Linda Sealy (Sylvain), Edmonton, AB; Brother, Bernie, Prince George, BC; Sisters, Gertrude Comeau, Beresford, NB, Lillian Gray, Big River, NB, Rita Sealy, Petit Rocher, NB, Priscilla Daigle (Donald), Big River, NB; Grandchildren, Brandon Kelly (Chelsea), Fort McMurray, AB. And Austin Sealy, Edmonton, AB; and a large extended family.

 Special thanks is given to his companion, Pauline Hachey, whom stayed at his side and a special nephew, James Gray, Edmonton, AB, whom could not attend but always in his heart.

Sydney was a hardworking, self-employed man whom would do everything to help everyone that crossed his path. Sydney also worked seasonally, for many years, as a provincial snowplow operator and bus driver. Sydney was an active member of the Lions Club until his illness.

Sincere thanks and gratitude to the entire staff at the Cross Cancer Centre, Edmonton, AB, and the Cancer wing, at the Northern Lights Hospital, Fort McMurray, AB, for their care, compassion and dedication to Sydney to ensure his comfort during his courageous battle with cancer.

Visitations will be on Friday after 2 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning (February 22, 2014) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedal, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton`s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
