Bathurst - Roland Parker, 77, of the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes and formerly of Brunswick Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Wednesday (October 6, 2004) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes after a lengthy illness.
Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Charles and Julianna (Bedard) Parker.
He worked for the former Atlantic Wholesales for 43 years, member of the U.C.T. Bathurst Council and a volunteer Fireman for many years.
Besides his wife, the former Therese Rioux, he is survived by: Two sons: Robert Parker (Roxann Trouth) of Edmonton, AB and Danny Parker (Ridley Vinson) of Vancouver, BC: Two daughters: Maureen Doucet (Vernon) and Judy Pelletier (Ghislain) both of Bathurst: One sister: Rita Savoie (Bert) of Dearborn, Michigan, USA: Six Grandchildren; Paula,Sean, Lindsay, Sarah, Tanya and Jamie as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Alex; six brothers and two sisters.
The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday morning (October 9, 2004) at 11:00 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Donations to the Alzheimer's Society or a favorite charity would be appreciated by the family.
