1940 – 2014

Bathurst - Mrs. Yvonne Godin, 73, wife of the late Patrick Godin, passed away Friday (February 28, 2014) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Caraquet, she was the daughter of Elmire (Cormier) Roy and the late Ernest Roy.

Besides her mother of Caraquet, she is survived by two loving children who will sadly miss her:

Pauline Godin Lavigne (Allen) of South Tetagouche and Paul Godin (Annie Cyr) of Bathurst.

Three grandchildren which she was very proud of and meant the world to her:  Jonathan, Alyssa, Olivier, step-grandchildren, Miguel and Anthony that she welcomed with opened arms.

Four brothers: Julien (late Rollande)of Bathurst, Yves (Louise), Sylvio (Monique) and Jean-Guy (Diane) all of Caraquet.

Seven sisters:  Julienne of Caraquet, Joséphine (Bill Kovacs) of Hannibal, Missouri, USA, Rose Marie of Beauport, QC, Noëlla (Abel Noël) of Moncton, Gilberte (Jean Allain) of Beresford, Anne (Régis Lizotte) of Rimouski, QC and Carmelle (Jean-Maurice Cormier) of Caraquet. 

Several nieces and nephews that she loved.

She was pre-deceased by a brother, Yvon.

Having worked for over 55 years, she was known as Yvonne the hairdresser. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering especially for her grandchildren’s schools. She was a lady that loved life and people welcoming them with her beautiful smile. In the last couple of years, she was a member of Les Filles d’Isabelle.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.

A private Funeral service will be held at a date and time to be announced.  Donations in memory of Yvonne may be made to a charity of the donors choice.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
