Bathurst - Wilfred Duguay, 89, of Union St., Bathurst and formerly of Rough Waters Dr., passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Nicolas and Basilice (Larocque) Duguay.
He worked at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and Brunswick Mines.
Besides his wife, Emilia (Daigle), he is survived by seven children: Rosaline Doucet (John Lavigne) of Middle River, Marcel Duguay (Jeannette) of Chamberlain Settlement, Yvonne Boucher (late Jean) of Rough Waters, Donald Duguay (Jocelyne) of Big River, Robert Duguay (Pierrette Denis) of Marieville, Que., Nancy Duguay (Robert Kryszko) of Pabineau First Nation and Mona Grant (Jean Pierre) of Bathurst.
16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter.
One brother, Léopold Duguay (Rachel) of Bathurst.
Three sisters: Rita Duclos, Laurette Duguay and Rose Marie Blanchard (Ernest) all of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Denise.
Visitation will be held at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst, on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday, April 14, 2014 from 9 a.m. until time of funeral.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning, April, 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Wilfred may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or a favorite charity.
