Bathurst – Eldon Roy, 82, of Vanier Blvd., Bathurst and formerly of Allardville, passed away on Wednesday (April 23, 2014) surrounded by his family at the ChaleurRegionalHospital, Bathurst.
Born in Beresford, he was the son of the late Clarence and Joséphine (Doucet) Roy.
Eldon was a member of the Holy Rosary Council 12215 of the Knights of Columbus and was very active in his parish as a minister of communion, etc...
Besides his wife of 59 years and 9 months, Alida (Caissie) Roy, he is survived by one son, Allain Roy (Gisèle) of Georgetown, Texas, USA. Two daughters: Cynthia « Cindy » Roy of Bathurst and Barbara Paulin (Léon) of South Tetagouche. Four granddaughters: Julie Roy and Hayley Roy both of Los Angeles, CA, USA, Marie Lynn Paulin of Moncton and Lisa Paulin of Bathurst. Also survived by one brother, Laurent Roy of Saint-Léonard, QC, and two sisters: Rita Cusolito (Bob) of Tewksbury, Mass, USA and Yvonne Léger of Richibuctou. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Roméo, Wilfred, and one sisters Doris, all in infancy.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Friday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning (April 26, 2014) at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of the RosaryChurch, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Eldon may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a favorite charity.
