Halifax, N.S. - Miss Eleanor Edith Ward, 90, of Halifax, N.S., passed away Monday (June 16, 2014) at the Northwood Manor in Halifax, N.S.

Born in Saint John, she was the chosen daughter of the late James and Emma (Payne) Ward.

She worked for former NBTel until her retirement.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by one sister, Inez Hornibrook.

Three brothers: Lee, Durward, Charles.

Two nieces: Sherilei Hornibrook and Melody Harvey.

Eleanor will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews: Emma-Jean Harvey, (Jack), Ethel Hornibrook (Ken), Sherwood Hornibrook (Sandra), Shirley Knowles (Herbert), Lois Dickson (Garnet), Wyona Wood (Roy) and James Ward (Sandra).

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday (June 24, 2014) at 2:30 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst. 

Donations in memory of Eleanor may be made to the Evangel Mission Team / Hugs for Kids or a charity of the donors choice.
