Big River – Bruce Glendenning, 56, of Big River, passed away on Saturday (June 21, 2014) at his summer cottage in Janeville after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Norman and Dora (Smearer) Glendenning.
He worked for Xstrata Mines as an industrial mechanic and was heavily involved with the Bathurst Minor Hockey Association.
Bruces’s life centered around family and friends and his spark ignited fun wherever he went. His generosity and sense of humour will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mona (Godin) Glendenning, one son, Jeff at home and his ten siblings.
Eight sisters: Lois McConaghy (Stan) of Fredericton, Joy Glendenning (Roger Allen) of Fredericton, Joan Johnston (Joe) of Saint John, Ann Roy (David) of Bathurst, Audrey Ramsay (Ralph), Beth Boucher (Walter) and Rhoda Sherrard (Stephen) all of Big River and Nancy Glendenning (Patrick Hawley) of Cape Breton, N.S. Two brothers: Dale (Mona) of Bathurst and Roy (Leigh Ann) of Big River; his in-laws, Clarence and Rose Godin of Bathurst and several nieces, nephews and aunts.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa in 2002.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Monday June 23, 2014 at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday morning, June 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the Holy Family Church, Bathurst.
Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
