Bathurst - Mrs. Eveline Chiasson, 86, of Golf St., Bathurst, passed away on Tuesday September 16, 2014, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Tremblay Settlement, she was the daughter of the late Léonard and Précille (Guitard) Roy.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Norman Chiasson and her second husband, Joseph Gilbert Roy.
She is survived by five daughters: Claudette (Scott Poupart) of Bathurst, Bernadette (John Richard) of South Tetagouche, Sandra McLaughlin (late David) of Moncton and Jocelyn Lafond (Robert Truchon), and Diane Roy (Josée Desrosier) both of Quebec.
Seven sons: Jean Claude (Caroline Henry), Jadus (Paula Godin), Donald (Paulette Pitre), Norman Junior, Maurice (Therese Levesque), David (Armella Roy) all of Bathurst and Michel (Annie Savoie) of Pointe Verte.
Two brothers: Rodolphe Roy (Doreen) of LaPlante and John Roy of Tremblay.
Nine sisters: Marie Rose Fournier of Lagacéville, Lilianne Pitre (late Herménigilde) of Robertville, Diane Aubie (late Alvin) of Beresford, Patricia Lavigne (Donat Hachey) of Bathurst, Phelomène Boudreau (late Emery) and Emma Boudreau (late Napoléon) both of Robertville, Lissey Pelletier (Raymond) of Beresford, Baselice Boudreau (Edmond) of Nigadoo, Léa Boudreau (late Valmond) of Pointe Verte.
Twenty three grandchildren: Devan, Amber, Patrick, Mathieu, Erika, Alex, Eric, Jason, Ashley, Justin, Cindy, Lynn, Stéphane, Isabelle, Marc, Laura, Roberto, Jacynthe, Annette, Tania, Venessa-Rose, Joey, Johnny; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Rachelle (1976), a sister, Yvette Legacy and a brother, Wilfred.
Visitation will be at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Friday from 9 until time of funeral.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning, September 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.
