Bathurst, NB – It is with saddened hearts to announce the passing of Mr. Donat Lecouter, 80; loving husband to Florence Lecouter (Lavigne) of Bathurst. He passed away with his family by his side, on Friday October 24, 2014, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in the palliative care unit.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Laurent Lecouter and Zelica (Laroque) Lecouter.
He is survived by three daughters: Donna Legacy (David) of Dartmouth, N.S., the late Marc Lecouter (Angela) of Middle Sackville, N.S., Debbie Perry of Fredericton, and Carolyn Williams of North Dakota, USA.
Four grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Aidan and Abracy.
Donat was employed with Brunswick Mining & Smelting for 32 years, retiring in 1994. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved the woods, along with camping in the summer. He also enjoyed woodworking, curling and hockey on T.V. Donat was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Wheten Assembly No. 0651, Bathurst.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrews St., Bathurst. Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
