1935 - 2014

Bathurst - Ernest Hodnett, 79, of Bathurst passed away on Monday November 10, 2014, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late George and Gertrude (Smith) Hodnett.

He was retired from the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill after 34 years of service.  He was a volunteer Fireman for 18 years with the Bathurst Fire Department, a member of Lodge St. John, No. 27, F&AM of the Masonic Order and enjoyed gardening, his computer, and Sammy the cat.

He is survived by a son, Stephen Hodnett of Bathurst. 

Two daughters:  Lisa Hodnett of Bathurst and Pat Carter (Chris) of Kingston, Ont.

One sister, Marjorie Jack (Martin) of Brighton, Ont.  One nephew, David Jack (Wendy) and one niece, Cindy Amo (Joe).

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held on Friday November 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. 

Donations in memory of Ernest may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Palliative Care Unit of Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity.
