Dunlop – Alward Hadley, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 94.
Born in Dunlop, he was the son of the late Joseph Hadley and Aline Aubé.
He ran the family saw mill in Dunlop most of his life as well as being a heavy duty mechanic with the Provincial Department of Highways.
He is survived by three daughters: Anne (Ralph) Young of Westville, N. S., Shirley (Lloyd) Wiseman of Dunlop, N. B. and Sharon (Vincent Russell) Hadley-Tabor of Salmon Beach.
One son: Walter (Margaret) of Dunlop, N. B. 14 granchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
One daughter in law, Claudette Boudreau (late John) of Dunlop.
Two sisters: Viola Cormier of Beresford and Anita Kenny of Bathurst.
One sister in law, Adrienne Hadley of Robertville.
He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Rita Kenny: one son, John; his only brother, Donald; four sisters: Patrina, Gloria, Martha and Lillian.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2 p.m. from Ste-Thérèse d’Avila Church, Robertville.
Donations in memory of Alward may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
