Jim Hocquard of Riverside Dr., Bathurst, NB passed away Thursday, 24 July 2003 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton, NB after a lengthy illness. Family members were in attendance.
Born in Campbellton, NB on Nov.23, 1945, Jim lived his life in Bathurst.
The son of the late Carl P. and Thelma (Jennings) Hocquard, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
His wife Rita McGrath, his daughter Sondra Hocquard, survives him of Fall River, NS: his son James Peter Hocquard of Bathurst NB; his sister Carolyn D. Killam (Hal) of Saint John, NB; his brother David R. Hocquard (Anne Marie) of Bathurst, NB and his grandson Tylar Vautour. Jim has two nieces, Kim Killam Brown of Quispamsis and Cindy Killam of Brossard , Que., the daughters of Carolyn and Hal Killam.
He was predeceased by his brother Peter Hocquard who died in 1970.
A Past Master of the Lodge Saint John, # 27, F&AM, of the Masonic Order, member of the First United Church, Bathurst, and it's Men's Choir. Jim was active in his community and his church. He was an avid sailor and member of the Bathurst Marina. Included in his wide range of interests was his love of classic cars and travel.
Joining Brunswick Mining in 1964, he retired from Noranda Inc, Brunswick Mines Division in January of 2002.
For his many friends and family, visitations will be on Friday at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst.
Burial will in the Highland View Cemetery, Bridge Street in Bathurst.
The family has requested that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
A Masonic service will be held Friday evening at the funeral home.
