1930 - 2015

Roméo Cormier, 84, of Rose Hill, N.B., passed away Thursday April 16, 2015, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Matapedia, Que., he was the son of the late Pierre and Lucie (McDougal) Cormier.

Besides his spouse, Delcina (Daigle) Roberts, he is survived by ten children: Serge (Denise), Gaetan (Linda Amos), Marjolaine Levesque (Gilles), Jocelyn (Claire), Diane Cormier (Marc Poirier), Suzanne Cormier (Michel Côté), Amanda Daigle (Michel Lagacé), Natalie Roberts (Michel Roy) and Cindy Marquis (Roger), all of Bathurst, Jean-Guy of Gatineau, Que.

His first wife, Rita (Aubé) Cormier of Bathurst.

Thirteen grandchildren: Marie-Jo, Danielle, Tara, Devin, Yan, Janie, Francois, Stéphanie, Jonathan, Katrina, Yanika, Jayden and Payge. 

Four great-grandchildren: Edouard, Alexis, Adelynn and Makayla.

One brother, Ernest of St-Florence, Que.

Two sisters: Marielle Cormier (Jean-Marie) and Louise Cormier both of Montreal, Que.

Several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Roméo Gauthier and one granddaughter, Richelle (daughter of Geatan & Linda).

The body will rest on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday, April 20, 2015 from 2 p.m. until time of funeral at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon April 20, 2015, at 4 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave, Bathurst. 

Donations in memory of Roméo may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donors choice.
