1931 - 2016
Big River, NB - It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of our father, Walter Furlotte, husband of the late Carmel (Hussey) Furlotte, of Big River, which occurred on Wednesday June 29, 2016, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 85.
Born in Durham Center, NB, he was the son of the late Fred and Martha (Doucet) Furlotte.
Walter worked at the former Brunswick Mines as a Hoist man for 30 years, until his retirement in 1992. In his younger years he was an avid curler, fisherman and later in life he enjoyed Senior's Bowling. He enjoyed sports tremendously and was a loyal Blue Jay's and Hab's fan.
He is survived by one son, Stephen (Heather) and one daughter, Lisa Boudreau (Steven) both of Big River.
One sister, Edna Copp (late Leonard) of Edmonton, AB. Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, Carmel (2010), he was predeceased by four sisters: Betty, Lillian, Bernice, Inez and two brothers: Larry, Alec.
At Walter's request, there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday morning July 2, 2016, at 10 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Walter may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
