1928 - 2016

Bathurst - Vito Laporta of Young St., Bathurst and formerly of Toronto, passed away Saturday August 6, 2016, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness, at the age of 88.

Born in Italy, he was the son of the late Stefano and Lucia Laporta.

Before retirement, he was an auto worker for Chrysler Canada in Toronto.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Nancy (Andocci) Laporta.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and is survived by two children:  Josie Doucette (Peter) of Bathurst and Steve Laporta (Pam) of London, ON.  Three grandchildren: Rocco, Justine, Julia and one great-granddaughter, Daniella.  Several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 4 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Chapel. 

In Memory of Vito, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
