Canobie – Mrs. Alma Glendenning, 85, wife of the late George Glendenning, passed away on Friday January 13, 2017, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in Clifton (Turkey Town), she was the daughter of the late James and Estella (Smith) Knowles. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Alma was a member of Central United Church, Clifton, Herman J. Good VC Branch #18 Royal Canadian Legion, and the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a former member of the Chaleur Evening Stars.
She is survived by her two sons: Danny (Valerie) and Jay (Kim), both of Canobie. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Robyn, Jayme, Geri, Scott, and Kaylie. Several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters: Myrtle, Edna, Arvella, and three brothers: Hilton, Hubert, and Lane.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. from Central United Church, Clifton.
