Bathurst ? Gordon Babin, 71, of Chamberlain Settlement, which occurred Sunday (March 6, 2005) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Edmond and Loretta (Comeau) Babin. He was a former gunner for the Royal Canadian Navy and worked as a Corps of Commissionaires in Bathurst. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, the former Joan Rose. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Bernier) Babin. Five daughters: Debbie Babin (Bobby Slaunwhite) of Aldergrove, BC Judy Babin, Marilyn Peters (Darren) and Tina Babin (Brad Brown), all of Halifax, NS Carole Babin at home Three sons: David Babin (Michelle) Barry Babin and Robbie Babin (Joanne), all of Halifax, NS One step-son: Larry Rose (Bertha) of Halifax, NS Three sisters: Bertha McAllister of Peterborough, ON Vivian LeBreton (Al) Betty White (Edwin), all of Bathurst Four Brothers: Cletus Babin (Jeannine) of Miramichi Raymond Babin (Lina), Dick Babin (Terry), both of Bathurst Hermel Babin, of Nigadoo Nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three sisters, Mary, Bernice and Patsy. The family will receive friends at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst, on Thursday from noon till time of Funeral. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday (March 10, 2005) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cathedral parish cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
