Bathurst - Mrs. Norma Jean Samson, wife of Peter Samson, passed away on Friday April 14, 2017, at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de- Lourdes, Bathurst, at the age of 79.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Leona (Hussey) Comeau.
She graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy in 1956 and got her nursing degree from the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in 1959.
Besides her husband of Bathurst, she is survived by four children: Michael Samson, Mary Ellen Cormier and Paul Samson all of Bathurst and Leona ''Lee'' Kennedy (Robert) of Mactaquac.
Five grandchildren whom she loved: David, Ryan, Katrina, Jesse, Matthew and two great-grandchildren: Isabella and Nevaeh.
Two brothers: Douglas Comeau and William ''Bill'' Comeau (Susan) both of Fredericton. Three sisters: Vera Wilson and Lois Marshall both of Hamilton and Anne Bujold of Saint John. Many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by two sisters: Iona and Gladys.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday June 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Norma Jean may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a favorite charity.
