Bathurst - Marguerite Isabell Morrison, devoted wife of the late Weldon Morrison, formerly of Woodland Drive, Bathurst, passed away at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in her 93rd year.

She was born in Paradise, New Bandon to the late William Smith and Greta Hodnett.

Marguerite is survived by her sisters: Edith (late Rev. Eldon Jagoe) of Annapolis Royal, Molly (Alvin Burmaster) of Sault Ste-Marie, Hazel (Al Harvey) of Peterborough; and a brother, Roy (Donna) of Richmond Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by sisters: Ella (late, Lyman Knowles), Ruth (late, Rupert Scott), Ruby (late, Rev Stewart Lewis); and brothers: Aubrey (Wilma Hubbard Smith) and Walter (late, Opal Ward; Joyce Gregersen Smith); and several nieces and nephews.

Marguerite worked in service for PJ and Mrs Leger from her teenage years until retirement. As a cat lover, in retirement she volunteered with the Bathurst SPCA and wrote a column for them in the Northern Light. For many years at family gatherings Marguerite enjoyed playing her guitar or the old pump-organ and singing. For several years she hosted a Bible study in her home for the Christian Women's Club (Stonecroft).

There is no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 18, 2017, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
