Christopher Andrew Reid, 69, of Landry Lane, Beresford, died Wednesday (August 13, 2003) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born August 27, 1933, in Montreal, he was the son of the late Eric and Hope (Pearson) Reid.
Christopher spent his childhood and received his education in Montreal. He became a pilot for Air Canada in 1954, Quebec-Air in 1958, Hollinger-Transport in 1960 as well as several other company's. In 1972 he began work with Brunswick Mining and Smelting, retiring in 1997. He was a member and councelor of the U.C.T., Bathurst, Council 827 and Treasurer of Local 7085 for several years. He was a former member of the Bathurst Curling Club, the Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club and was a great supporter of the Acadie-Bathurst Titans.
He is survived by his wife, the former Denise Poney. 2 Sisters-in-law: Yolande Martin (Philippe) of New Carlisle, Que. Marie Levesque (Normand) of Sept-Iles, Que.Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service was held on Monday afternoon (August 18, 2003) at 2:00 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst. Burial was in the United Cemetery, St. Anne St. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
