It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Mrs. Bernice Davidson, 83, wife of the late Harris Davidson, of Lea Doucet Foyer, Chamberlain Settlement and formerly of North Tetagouche, which occurred Thursday October 5, 2017, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in North Tetagouche, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Josephine (Brennen) Power.
She is survived by a son, John (Diane) and her cherished granddaughter, Christy all of North Tetagouche.
Two brothers: Allie Power (Jeannette) of North Tetagouche and Brennen Power of Bathurst.
She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Edith Davidson. Several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by two sisters: Claire and Betty.
Bernice worked at the former W.J. Kent & Co., also as a bus driver and dairy farmer, but in later years her favorite pastimes were her granddaughter Christy and grand dog Gizmo. She spent many hours with the two of them. Bernice also loved the outdoors and took pride in keeping her property well maintained. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Women's League.
Her family would like to thank the following; Flo, Yvette and Rose for in home care, and for the last two years, when she could no longer stay at home, Lea and Louise and all of the wonderful caregivers at Lea Doucet Foyer. Your kindness and the amazing car and compassion that you gave Bernice were very much appreciated.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 3 p.m. Tuesday October 10, 2017, at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, from where the Funeral Service will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to the Bathurst Animal Shelter or a charity of the donor’s choice.
