It is with great sadness that we, the family of Léona Vienneau, wife of the late Gordon Vienneau of Rough Waters announce her passing on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Foyer-Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes at the age of 102.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Josephine (Chamberlain) Vienneau.

She is survived by one daughter, Fernande Dumaresq (Laurie) of South Tetagouche.

Two Grandchildren: Denis (Jessica) and Marilyne (Michel).

Two great granddaughters who she loved dearly: Abrielle and Ariane.

Two sisters: Yvonne Dion of Montreal and Patricia Doucet of Nigadoo.

Sister-in-law Hazel Vienneau (Damas) of Allardville.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two sons: Réal and Fernand; two daughters: Marcella and Anne Marie; her sisters Macrina, Prescilla, Edna and Alice; her brothers: Gérald and Loyd.

Léona was a very caring and loving person. She had a great talent in knitting, crocheting and she was a great cook. She was always ready to help others during difficult times in their lives. The family wishes to send a special thank you to all who lovingly cared for her, especially her caregivers, her nieces and nephews and the staff at the Foyer-Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 1h30 p.m. until time of funeral which will be held at 4p.m. from the Holy Rosary Church on St. Peter’s avenue.

In Memory of Léona, donations can be made to the Foyer-Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes or a charity of the donor’s choice.
