Bathurst- It is with great sorrow that the Tremblay family wishes to announce the passing of Armand Tremblay, of Sunset Dr., Bathurst, husband of Lucille Gagnon of Bathurst, NB, which occurred on Tuesday 10th May 2005 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, NB at the age of 79.
Born in Lapocatière, Québec, he was the son of the late Grégoire Tremblay and the late Elmire Lizotte. Besides his wife, he his survived by his children: Roger (Karen) of Fredericton, NB, Esther (Jean-Louis) of Fredericton, NB and Brigitte (André) of Ottawa, ON
His brothers: Jean-Charles, Joseph-André and Gérard, all of Lapocatière, Que. His sisters: Lucie of LaPocatière, Que., Sr. Marie-Rose and Madelaine of Québec, Que., Cécile of Rivière-Ouelle, Que.
His grandchildren: Rebecca, Eric, Jonah, Justin, Matthieu, Pierre Olivier, Myriam and Philippe.
He was pre-deceased by his brothers: Élie, Georges and Appolinaire and sisters: Marie-Blanche, Sr. Marguerite and Bernadette.
Armand was known as an expert in growing annual plants in his greenhouse, which he and his wife Lucille would sell to numerous customers. He was also a very talented woodworker.
The body rested at Elhatton Funeral Home, 187 St. George St. in Bathurst. Funeral Mass was celebrated from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst on Friday 13th May 2005 at 4 p.m. Burial was in the parish cemetery. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to a charity of the donor's choice.
