Charles Roy, husband of the late Gerarda (Lanteigne) Roy, of Bathurst and formerly of Allardville, passed away Friday September 6, 2019 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 89. 

Born in Madran he was the son of the late Émile and Amanda (Lagacé) Roy. 

He is survived by two daughters: Charline Murty (Mike) of South Tetagouche, and Denise Roy-Plourde (Gilbert) of Allardville. 

Three sons: Marcel (Claudine) and Benoit (Joanne) both of Allardville and Gérard (Julienne) of Bathurst. 

His special friend, Thérèse Friolet of Bathurst. 

Eleven grandchildren: Sandra, Jason, Sébastien, Martine, Serge, Sophie, Marilyne, Marie-Josée, Jacinthe, Richard, Karine; fifteen great-grandchildren: Kayla, Alexandra, Jean-Samuel, Zavier, Louis-Felix, Mylianne, Zack-André, Amélie-Rose, Terra, Hélie, Layla, William Mark, Eliot, Isaac and Maeve. 

Three brothers: Gérard Roy (Josephine) and Valmond Roy (Mona) both of Bathurst and Armand Roy (Jeanita) of Petit-Rocher and one sister, Aline Doucet (Ralph) of Bathurst. 

Many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law as well as Thérèse’s children. 

Besides his wife he was predeceased by a grandson Mark, great-granddaughter, Chloé, sisters: Eveline and Thérèse and a brother Léandre. 

The family will receive relatives and friends after 7 p.m. on Sunday September 8th, 2019 at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 9th at 4 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral. 

Donations in memory of Charles may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
