Bathurst - Normand A. Roy, 87, of James St., Bathurst, died Sunday (July 3, 2005) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Robertville, he was the son of the late Adelard and Christianne (Daigle) Roy. He served in Canada during World War II with the Royal Canadian Army. He was a Superintendent for the former Connolly Contruction in Bathurst. He was a 3rd degree and 4th degree member of the Chevalier de Colombs de Beresford. Besides his wife, Cécile (Haché) Roy, he is survived by: Six children: Armande Comeau (late Napoleon) de Nicholas-Denys, NB Rénald Roy (Eleanor Doucet) de Dunlop, NB Armella Roy (David Chiasson) de Bathurst Valmon Roy (Bernice) de Robertville, NB Claude Roy (Maire-France) de North Tetagouche Sylvio Roy (Constance Doucet) de Bathurst 13 grandchildren; Martial, Stéphane, Alain, Annie, Gino, René, Rachel, Cindy, Lynn, Melissa, Isabelle, Vickie, Patrick; 4 great-grandchildren; Jean-Philippe, Renelle, Anthony and Justin. Four sisters: Amanda Aubie (late Gordon) and Hedwidge Arseneau (Ernest) both of Robertville Yvonne LaCroix (late Clairmont) of Quebec Eveline Roy (Yvon) of Montreal Five brothers: Fred Roy (Vickie) of Bathurst Alphé Roy (Marie Blanche) of North Tetagouche, NB Jean Roy (Adeline), Omer Roy (Laura) and Arthur Roy (Anna), all of Montreal Many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, Victorin; brothers Emery, Livain and a sister Régina. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon (July 5, 2005) at 4:00 p.m. from Holy Rosary Church (Eglise Notre Dame du Rosaire), Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
