Donald Walsh, 62, of Veniot Ave, Bathurst, passed away on Thursday (July 7, 2005) at the Moncton Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Renfrew, ON, he was the son of the late Hugh & Jessie (Wheeler) Walsh.
He was employed at Brunswick Mines for 32 years as a Senior Mine Captain and later transferred as a Process Optimization Coordinator and was a member of the Noranda Quarter Century Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn (Garrett) Walsh, and loving children:
Shawn Walsh (Josée) of Bathurst
Tawnya Fraser of Halifax, NS
One grandson, Dallas Walsh, whom he dearly adored.
Two brothers:
Mervin Walsh (Ruth) of Renfrew, ON
Joe Walsh (Alida) of Yellowknife, NWT
Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Elizabeth Hunter in June 2005.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (July 11, 2005) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
