Bathurst - Mrs. Ella Knowles, 87, formerly of Clifton, passed away on Friday (July 22, 2005) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in New Bandon, she was the daughter of the late William and Greta (Hodnett) Smith. She was a member of the Women's Institute and belonged to the Lady's Auxilary of the Anglican Church. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Lyman Knowles in 1989. She is survived by: Eight children: Shirley MacDonald (Arnold) of Ottawa, ON Glynn Knowles (Dorothy) of Peterborough, ON Garry Knowles of Stonehaven, NB Donna Weatherly (Robert) of San Francisco, USA Janice Unsworth (Allan) of Kinston, ON Jerry Knowles (Shirley) of Clifton, NB Darryl Knowles (Linda) of Janeville, NB Karen Knowles (Donald MacGregar) of Salmon Beach, NB Two brothers: Walter Smith (Joyce) and Roy Smith (Donna), both of Toronto, ON Five sisters: Edith Jagoe of Bathurst Ruth Scott of Stonehaven, NB Marguerite Morrison of Bathurst Molly Burmaster (Alvin) of Sault Ste Marie, ON Hazel Harvey (Al) of Peterborough, ON 17 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Reese in 1968, a brother, Audrey, and a sister, Ruby. The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning (July 26, 2005) at 11:00 a.m. from Evangel Pentecostal Church, Basin St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery, Bridge St., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
