Bathurst – It is with broken hearts the family of Mrs. Maria Blanchard, wife of the late Claude Blanchard, of Hillside Ave, Bathurst, announce her sudden passing on Friday January 8, 2021 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 94.
Born in Sainte-Anne, Glou. Co, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Doucet) Bertin.
Mom was a devoted mother and mémère, she attended Holy Family Church and was the best mini stick player, loved spending time with family and friend, reminiscing and sharing memories, playing cards. She loved to cook, bake, sew, knit, and crochet.
Maria is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her son, Daniel Blanchard of Montreal, QC and her daughter, Nicole Vienneau of Bathurst.
Her beloved grandson, Mathieu, many nieces, nephews and numerous friends that are considered family.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was pre-deceased by four brothers: Joseph, Leonard, Wilfred, Albert (in infancy) and four sisters: Rita, Delcina, Martha and Aldéa (in infancy).
In accordance with Maria’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In Maria’s memory, the family has recommended donations to a favorite charity would be appreciated.
Maria’s family would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Lorna Hobbs, mom’s caregiver, who worked to keep her in her home, for her kindness, compassion and love she provided to mom, you will always be remembered, appreciated, and became part of our family.
