Bathurst - Augustine 'Martina' Glazier, 79, wife of the late Alfred 'Fred' Glazier, of Church St., Bathurst, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 31 2005 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Caraquet, she was the daughter of the late August Lanteigne and the late Elodie Doiron.
As a young woman, Augustine was educated in Caraquet (Convent) and upon her marriage, moved to Bathurst. For several years she worked as a clerk at Fransblow's, Lounsbury's, and K-Mart. she retired after having been employed for 18 years at the Chaleur Regional Hospital. She was a member of St. Theresa Church, South Bathurst. Her favorite past times during her retirement years were attending card parties and following yard sales.
She is survived by: 2 sons, Alfred Glazier (Anne), Clifford Glazier (Lynn Marie) all of Bathurst. 3 grandsons: Ryan (Fredericton), Matthew (Moncton), and Trevor (Bathurst). 6 sisters: Gertrude Gionet, Bella Lachance (Eloi), Alfreda Turbide (Stan) all of Quebec, Rita Lanteigne, Julie Friolet (Michel) both of Caraquet, Amy Lanteigne (Raymond) of Toronto.
3 brothers, Georges Lanteigne (Denise) of Caraquet, Eddie Lanteigne (Katrine), Jeremy Lanteigne (Annette) both of Montreal.
Many nieces and nephews. A brother, Henry Lanteigne pre-deceased her.
The family will receive family and friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday September 2 2005 from St. Theresa Church in South Bathurst at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery on King Avenue, Bathurst. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
