We, the family of Bruce Dempsey, were very disheartened to learn of his passing in his condo in Ottawa, Ontario on January 25th, 2022 at the age of 46.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of Palmer and Elva (Moore) Dempsey of Salmon Beach.

Besides his parents, he leaves to morn his sister, Karen (Wayne Tonus) of Penticton, BC; his brothers: Floyd Dempsey of Ottawa and Blake Dempsey (Heather) of Moncton, NB; as well as his nephews: Cody and Dustin Dempsey of Moncton and also his much cared for companion, Cleo, his cat.

Bruce grew up in Salmon Beach, graduated from Bathurst High School, and obtained his Computer Science Degree from the University of New Brunswick. He worked in Fredericton and later in Ottawa for many years with Health Canada, the latter years working from his home. Bruce was very involved in photography and had a sincere love for animals. Bruce loved to travel, taking numerous trips camping, some to British Columbia to parks, a trip to Portugal with a friend and even a trip to India by himself to view the Taj Mahal, the Himalayas and dip in the Ganges River. Bruce made many trips to his home usually accompanied by his brother Floyd. As his Muscular Distrophy condition worsened, he had to stop travelling, but kept in touch with many e-mails and telephone calls.

The family received relatives and friends at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. A funeral service will be held on Friday May 27, 2022 at 2 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel.
