With celebration of a life well lived, we the family announce the passing of Elizabeth Legacy, 80, of Big River, which occurred on Monday, May 1st, 2023 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Loretta (Caissey) Roy.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Edgar as well as four daughters: Jeanne Hachey (late Wayne), Linda Poirier (Lionel) both of Bathurst, Suzanne Gendron (Denis) of Fredericton and Yvette Couture (Robert) of Bathurst.

Ten grandchildren: Jason, Amanda, Lee, Katherine, Cory, Steven, Jenna, Shawn, Stephanie and Brian. 16 great-grandchildren.

Three sisters: Sadie Hudon (Roger), Rhoda Roy and Isabell MacLean all of Bathurst.

Four brothers: Edgar (Evelyn) of Bathurst, Arthur (Denise) of St. Anne, Patrick (Clorise) of Notre-Dame and Silas of Robertville.

She was predeceased by two brothers: Guy and Alfred and two sisters: Alice and Freda.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Monday morning, May 8th, 2023 at 10 am from Elhatton Funeral Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
