Bathurst – Martin Haché, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday May 10, 2023, at the age of 91.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Pierre and Florida (Chiasson) Haché.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Rochel (Aube) Haché and is survived by his children: Tim Haché (Nicole) of South Tetagouche, Alan Haché (Sylvie Frenette) and Glen Haché both of Bathurst.

Four grandchildren: Catherine, Mariane, Pierre-Luc and Geneviève.

One brother, Michael de Moncton. Two sisters: Theresa Campeau (late Jean-Guy) of Val d'Or, Qc. and Yvette Fizli (late Peter) of Miramichi.

Several nieces and nephews.

Besides his spouse and parents, he was pre-deceased by five brothers: Edmond, Armand, Raymond, Maurice (Régina), Wilfred and three sisters: Jeanne-Mance Corbeil, Annette Noël and Aline Hachey.

Martin was retired from the former Brunswick Mines where he worked as a draftsman for over 25 years. He was well appreciated for his wit, positive attitude, meticulous work and innovative ideas. A man of faith, above all else he loved his wife and family. He loved nature and spending time in the woods. He loved to draw, paint and woodcarving. More recently he enjoyed sitting in the sun with Roshie enjoying the view, the frequent visits from the deer in the back yard and teasing family, care workers and visitors alike with a heartfelt appreciation, a twinkle in his eye and a smile larger than life. Never one to shy away from an adventure, he will be greatly missed by family and friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Extra Mural services and to Atlantic Quality Care team members: Maricelle, Emiline, France, Anne, Fatou for their kindness, care and attention.

The family will receive relatives and friends after 9 a.m. Thursday May 18, 2023, at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, until time of Funeral at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Bathurst.

In memory of Martin, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
