Bathurst - Mrs. Pearl Theresa Duffy, 75, wife of the late John A. Duffy, of King Ave, Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (February 11, 2006) at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Ann (Sullivan) Hussey. Pearl was a true volunteer, helping with various groups throughout the City. She was very proud of the volunteer work during the 2003 Bathurst-Campbellton Canada Winter Games. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1935, past president and founding member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, secretary of the Maple Leaf Seniors Club, member of the Golden Age Club, Sacred Heart Cathedral C.W.L., the Hospital Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. She is survived by: One son: John A. Duffy II (Rose) of Bathurst Two daughters: Ann (Harold) of Halifax, NS Patricia of Bathurst Two sisters: Mary Philpott (Jack) of Toronto, ON Frances Boudreau (Peter) of Bathurst One sister-in-law: Vera Hussey of Bathurst Five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, John A. Duffy, one son, Joseph, two brothers, John, Ken, two sisters, Edna and Jean. The body will rest after 7:00 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (February 15, 2006) at 11:00 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in the spring.
