Beresford - Douglas Bateman, husband to Ginette (Cormier) Bateman, formerly of Beresford, passed away on Saturday November 11, 2023, at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst, at the age of 65.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Henry and Marie Anne (Bertin) Bateman.

Besides his spouse, he is survived by two daughters: Mallory Bateman de Montréal, QC and Vanessa Bateman (Louis-Jacques Delorme) of Gatineau, QC.

One grandson, Henri.

His brothers and sisters: Jacqueline Flannery (late David) of Ottawa, ON, Wayne Toner (late Linda) of Sudbury, ON, Holly Laws (Michael) of Trenton, ON, Shelly Gladden (Terry) of Cobourg, ON, Bruce Toner (Louise) of Toronto, ON, Bud Toner (Liz) of Milton, ON and Rick Toner (Andrea) of Sterling, ON.

Several nieces and nephews.

Douglas was retired from Canada Post.

There will be no visitations at the funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday November 23, 2023, at 4 p.m. from Holy Name of Jesus Church, Beresford. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheriage.com), Beresford. Donations in memory of Douglas may be made to Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society or a favorite charity. The family would like to thank the staff at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes for the care given to Douglas during his stay.
