It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Poirier, 95, beloved wife of the late Paul Emile Poirier, announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst.

Born in Bertrand, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Poirier) Theriault.

She was the last member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her son, Robert of Bathurst. Three granddaughters, Catherine Poirier-Lapierre (Dennis), Chantal Poirier (Jeremy) and Vanessa DeHaître. Six great-grandchildren; Tyler, Addisson, Jacob, Emma, Isabella and Ariel.

She was predeceased by her brothers Valmond, Léo, Vincent, Lionel and sisters, Gabrielle Stevens and Cécile Hutton.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
