Claude Daigle

  • Claude Daigle 1940-2024

  •  Date of Death: March 11, 2024
  •  Location: Bathurst

In loving memory of Claude Daigle, 83, of Middle River, passed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on March 11, 2024. Born in Bathurst to the late Donald and Angéline (Boudreau) Daigle.

Claude was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was married to the love of his life, the late Carmel Daigle for 49 years and went on to have three children: Paul (Kristina) of Moncton, Steven (Jessica) of Altoona, Wisconsin, and Micheline (Rick) Vienneau of Middle River. He had five grandchildren: Anthony, Cody (Kori-Leigh), Janie, Jacob, and Jordan; and was the great grandfather of Macy and Maya. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many others whom he considered family.

After retiring as a heavy equipment mechanic at the age of 57, Claude would spend his days tinkering and fixing anything he could get his hands on. He was a hardworking, loving, gentle, kind hearted man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and going for long walks in the woods. He loved the Lord and was a true example of living life for Christ. He gladly gave of himself to help anyone in need and was a father figure to so many people throughout his life. Claude is now rejoicing in heaven but will be greatly missed by those he left behind.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A family ceremony will be held at the gravesite on a later date. Donations in memory of Claude may be made to the Bathurst branch of the Canadian Red Cross or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst (www.elhatton.com).
