It is with sadness that the family of Jean “John” Boucher, husband of the late Albertine (Losier) Boucher announce his passing which occurred on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 87.

Born in Bathurst. He was the son of the late Benjamin and Antoinette (St-Jean) Boucher.

He worked many years for Cormier & Sons Coca-Cola Bottling. He was very involved with the United Food and Commercial Workers labor union.

He is survived by his five children: Réjean (Charan) of Cold Lake, AB, Pierre (Louise Corbin) of Calgary, AB, Nicole Boucher (André Ouellette) of Grand Falls, NB, Colette Boucher of Moncton, NB and Luc (Bianca Bolduc) of Hanwell, NB.

Ten grandchildren: Michael Boucher (Brenda), Ashley Niddrie (Matthew), Candice Boucher (Colton), Mylaine Boucher (Roderick Rivera), Marc-André Boucher, Éric Ouellette (Kim), Annie Ouellette (Adam Perry), Karine Ouellette (Jason Jensen), Sienna Boucher-Whalen and Alexa Boucher.

Seven great-grandchildren: Makayla, Mattea, Naomi, Leevi, Émilie, Cole and Frederick.

One brother Roe Boucher of Rough Waters and one sister Yvette Doré (André) of Quebec City and one sister-in-law Marjorie Boucher (late Claude).

Also, by a companion, Regina Bennett.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Gerard (late Theresa), Claude and Urbain; two sisters, Gilberte Langlois (late Alex) and Marie Reine Van Heuverswyn(late Henri).

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until time of funeral at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass for John will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
