South Tetagouche - Alvin Pitre, 82, of South Tetagouche, died Thursday (October 9, 2003) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in South Tetagouche, he was the son of the late Larry and Sara Jane (Duguay) Pitre.
He served in World War II, with the Carleton York Regiment of the Royal Canadian Army, in Italy, Holland, France, Germany and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He worked as a carpenter all of his life.
Survived by his wife, the former Dorina Malley.

The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday afternoon (October 11, 2003) at 1:30 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial was in the parish cemetery. www.elhatton.com A Legion service was held at the Funeral Home on Saturday morning.
