It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Joan Jones of Bathurst, and formerly of Smith Falls, ON, which occurred peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 at the age of 90.

Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Sadie (Ross) Faulds.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Jones and her only brother, John Faulds (late Fay).

She is survived by her nephew, Brent Faulds (Annette Leet) of Bathurst.

Great-nephews: Ryan Faulds (Roxane), Jeremy Faulds (Melanie) and great-great-nephews: Alec and Spencer all of Bathurst.

As well as her niece Lynn Hebert (Jeff) of Bathurst. Great-niece Bret Hermansky (Jessie) and great-nephew Kyle Hermansky (Ariel) both of the USA.

She is also survived by her dear friend Lisa Knowles of Bathurst.

Joan was employed by C.P. Rail in Smith Falls Ontario until her retirement in 1988. Following Doug’s passing in 1989, Joan would often travel to Bathurst to visit with her family. She enjoyed travelling the world with her friends from Ontario and Bathurst. In March of 2022, Joan moved back to Bathurst to be with her family.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel.

The family would like to thank her care givers: Nicole, Jackie, Ester, Lorraine, Lisa, Jessica, Marisel, as well as Dr. Cathrine Maltais, Dr. Eve St-Hilaire, Dr. Rebecca Arseneau, Melissa Robichaud and the staff of the Extra-Mural Program for the care given to Joan over the last few years.

Donations in memory of Joan may be made to the North Shore Shrine Club Transportation Fund, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
