It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Doucette, of Dunlop, which occurred on October 10, 2024. He passed away as he lived his life; with courage, spirit, faith and surrounded by those he loved.

Roger touched the lives of many people with his generous, kind and humorous nature. He worked most of his career as a linesman with NB Power where he was known for his hard work, dedication, passion for helping others and being a jokester. He was incredibly skilled at connecting with others, which allowed him to form many lifelong friendships.

He enjoyed boating, fishing, the beach, hanging out with his grand dogs, watching his favorite TV shows and had a deep love of music. Roger was an avid reader and would be known as Mr. Google/Dr Doucette without ever using a computer.

But more than anything, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending their events, sharing stories, jokes and watching their favorite TV shows together. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement; not only to his own children but to many others who needed fatherly advice.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Brenda (Gallagher) Doucette, his children, Pam (Tim), Tanya (Craig), Jamie (Yvonne), Monia (Luc); his grandchildren, Emma, Maddi, Lennon, Sarah (Mitch) and Tiffany (Edward) and two great-grandchildren Maddex and Wyatt.

He is also survived by many loving siblings, nieces and nephews.

Roger was predeceased by his parents Hyacinthe (Zing) and Anna.

The family would like to thank the amazing Palliative Care Team and two special nurses from 2 West. We will be forever grateful for your kindness, care and compassion.

There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel. A Christian mass and burial will take place at a later date.

Donations in memory of Roger may be made to his favorite charity, Hope for Wildlife Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, NB.
