Jacques Magny, originally from Sainte Thècle, Quebec, passed away October 13, 2024, at his home in Beresford, he was 83.

He was the husband of Eleanor Pitre of Beresford. The father of Kim Magny (Stephen Martin) from Chelsea Quebec, and a son Stephen Magny, who predeceased him.

He was the son of the late Maurice Magny and the late Lucille Tessier and the stepson of the late Fernande Lapointe, his stepmother who helped raise him.

He was the brother of the late Pierre and Rene Magny.

He is survived by Gisele Magny (Brian Riordon) of Montreal, Quebec, Richard Magny of Sherbrooke, Quebec and Raymond Magny (Jeannine) of Pointe du Lac, Quebec.

He worked for Foreign Affairs Canada. He travelled extensively, his family following him abroad in New York and Paris. He settled in Beresford for his retirement.

There is no funeral or visitation. A graveside memorial will be held later.

Donations in his honor can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or another charity of choice.
