Bathurst - It is with deep sadness that the family of William “Bill” Martin, husband to the late Ruth (MacEachern) Martin, announce his passing which occurred peacefully at his residence on Grandview St. in Bathurst, on Thursday March 20, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born in Dawsonville, NB, he was the son of the late Henry and the late Nellie (Jagoe) Martin.

William is survived by two daughters: Beth Daigle (Paul) and Shelley Scott (Blair) both of Bathurst. One son, Bobby Martin (Debbie) of Bathurst.

One daughter-in-law, Cindy Martin of Bathurst.

Seven grandchildren: Shawn, Sara, Paige, Sandi, Chadd, Cole, Jessi and seven great-grandchildren.

He also leaves behind his brothers: Marson (Lois), Cassidy (Sue), Terry (Suzanne), Alton (Ann) and Ronnie (Carol) and his sisters: Evelyn, Joy, Jean, Sandra, Sheila (Hubert) and Theresa (Lewis).

Sister-in-law, Alice as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents, William was predeceased by brothers Bryon and Kenny and sister Annie.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Ault, Dr. Rebecca Arseneau, Dr. Sylvie Robichaud, Dr Dean Ferguson, Dr. Meagan Patterson and the awesome staff of Extra Mural Bathurst for your kindness and exceptional care given to our dad.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Chapel, 187 St. George St., Bathurst NB.

Donations in memory William may be made to Extra Mural Program, Special Olympics or a charity of the donor’s choice.
