The death of Eileen Jagoe, wife of 69 years to Arthur L. Jagoe of Bathurst, NB which occurred on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 94 years.

Born in Stonehaven, NB, she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Margaret L. (Payne) Scott.

She was a member of the Central United Church, Clifton, a lifetime member of U.C.W., a former treasurer of Central United Church, as well as a representative for the Mission and Service. Eileen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Herman J. Good, V.C. Branch 18 of Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst as a life time member.

She is survived by two children: Byron (Karen) Jagoe of Edmonton, AB and Margaret (Mike) Daniels of Bathurst, NB.

One grandson Ryan and two great-grandchildren; Lukas and Audrey.

She is also survived by one brother, Dave Scott of Bathurst; one sister Lela Branch (Percy) of Big River, NB; sisters-in-law Elna Scott of Bathurst, Bernice Scott of Quispamsis, NB and Verda (Russell) Logan of Truro.

Several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers: James, Wendell, Rodney and Earle Scott. Sisters: Grace Scott, Rena MacDonald, Alice Jagoe and Clottie Ellis.

Eileen enjoyed spending summer Sunday afternoons at the Jagoe cottage in Salmon Beach, especially the potlucks. She loved baking and was knows to Ryan as “Grammie who made the best cookies!”

Eileen had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to laugh, but had sharp wit and tongue. Arthur referred to Eileen for approval on most things and he often said to Byron & Margaret – “check with your mother”.

Special thank you to the staff of Southern Comfort Villa for their exceptional care over the past four years and the staff in Palliative Care at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Central United Church in Clifton followed by a reception in the adjoining church hall. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. The funeral service will be live-streamed and posted on the Central United Church Facebook page.

Donations in memory of Eileen may be made to Central United Church, Shriners Transportation Fund or a charity of donor’s choice.
