Bathurst - Edmund Cormier, 83, of Mt. Carmel St., Bathurst, passed away at his residence on Tuesday (September 19, 2006), after a lengthy illness.
Born in the Miramichi, he was the son of the late Frank and Delima (Vienneau) Cormier.
He served with the North Shore Regiment in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada. Upon retiring from Dominion Engineering in Quebec, he returned to his former home in Bathurst. He was a Corp of Commissionaires for 10 years, at the Nicholas Denys Federal Building and the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Frank Cormier of Lachine, Que.
Three daughters:
Carole Cormier,
Joanne Cormier and
Susie Cormier, all of Lachine, Que.
One half-brother:
Normand "Jim" Godin (Laurine) of Beresford
9 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Dianne Cormier.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (September 21, 2006) at 2:00 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
