Bathurst - With great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Grace Elizabeth Robinson, of York St., Bathurst, which occurred Monday (November 17, 2003) at the Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a brief illness.
Born in Black Cape, Que. in 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Ina (McLellan) Ward. She had been a resident of Bathurst since 1943, where she was a devout Christian and faithful member of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church.
Grace was pre-deceased by her husband, Elmer, in 1978, and by her daughters Sheila (1968) and Nancy (1969). In spite of the untimely deaths of her beloved family members, Grace was a source of great strength and encouragement to her many relatives and friends.
She is survived by her brothers; Herbert (Margaret) of Toronto, ON, Donald (Joan) of Cary, North Carolina, USA, Kenneth (Lois) of Goderich, ON, by her sisters; Isabel Smith (Howard) of Morrisburg, ON, Ella Cross (Robert) of Centreville, NS, and Joan Forshaw (Ralph) of Nanaimo, BC, as well as by many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers; Edgar, Arnold, Byron and Melvin, and by sisters Margaret and Opal.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home, by personal request. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday (November 19, 2003) at 2:00 p.m. from St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, Murray Ave., Bathurst, with Rev. James Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery, Bridge St. Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. till 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Presbyterian with a reception to follow the service.
Grace will be greatly missed by all of us whose lives were enriched by knowing her. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to St. Luke's Presbyterian Church of a charity of choice. Arrangements are in the care or Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
