Pointe-Verte, NB - Mrs. Laurette Savoie, 85, wife of Walter Savoie, of Pointe-Verte, passed away on Sunday (May 27, 2007)a at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in St Basile, NB, she was the daughter of the late Regis and Sophie (Cyr) Mercure. She was a teacher for 40 years in Pointe-Verte and was a member of the “Societé Enseignant Francophone NB”. Besides her husband, she is survived by: Two daughters: Jocelyne Savoie (Albert Ferguson) of Fredericton Diane LaForest (Pierre) of Memramcook, NB One sister: Aline Gagné of Clair, NB 4 grandchildren; Eric, Marc André, Catherine and Amelie. She was pre-deceased by a daughter; Marie-Mai in 1981, 3 brothers; Emile, Alphée, Edmond, 3 sisters; Aurore, Roseanna and Eva. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (May 31, 2007) at 3:00 p.m. from Eglise St. Vincent de Paul, Pointe-Verte. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Church one hour before the Funeral.
