Elizabeth Camille Robichaud, Q.C. passed away at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst, N.B. on July 26, 2007 at the age of 76 years.
Born in Caraquet, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Justice Albany M. Robichaud, Q.C. and Dorina Cormier.
She is survived by:
A brother, Roland (Ruby Gibeau) of Fredericton, N.B. and
her sister, Claudette Arsenault (Frédéric) of Bathurst together with several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Camilien, predeceased her.
Following undergraduate studies at College Notre Dame du Sacré Coeur, Memramcook, N.B., she undertook studies at the Saint John Law School from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Laws awarded by the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.
Following admission to the New Brunswick Bar she practiced law with her father until his elevation to the Bench and, subsequently, with the late Antonio J. Robichaud, Q.C. in Bathurst.
In 1964, Ms Robichaud entered the field of corporate law occupying, successively, positions of Senior Legal Officer, Assistant-Secretary and Corporate Secretary to various corporations, specifically as Corporate Secretary, to CB PAK INC., CONSOLIDATED-BATHURST INC. and STONE-CONSOLIDATED INC. at their Montréal, Québec Head Offices from 1985 to her retirement in 1991.
She had, leading up to these various assignments, followed courses at the McGill Faculty of Law in Montreal in Intellectual Property.
Throughout her professional career she maintained membership in the Law Society of New Brunswick, the Canadian Bar Association and the New York-based American Society of Corporate Secretaries INC.
She returned to Bathurst in 2002.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cathedral Parish where a funeral mass and service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Elhatton's Funeral Home Ltd (www.elhatton.com), 187 St. George, Bathurst, N .B.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
