Bathurst, NB - Mrs. Alice Melanson, 90, wife of the late Yvon Melanson, of Chamberlain Settlement, NB, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday (September 18, 2007) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in St. Anselme, NB, she was the daughter of the late Bélonie and Domiltide (LeBlanc) LeBlanc.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Yvon, in 1999.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her four children:
Alonzo (Glenda) of Moncton
Rose May Haché (Alphonse) of Chamberlain Settlement
Jean Guy (Jean-Paul Dugas) of Bathurst
Vital (Jacqueline) of Beresford
6 grandchildren; Michelle, Yves, Claude, Denis, Mathieu, Caroline, 3 great-grandchildren; Alex, Denis and Eric, several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by two sisters; Amanda, Sylvie and three brothers; Anastase, Marc and Gilbert.
Visitation will be from Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, on Thursday evening only from 7 to 9 p.m. She will then be transferred to Frenette's Funeral Home (www.frenettefuneralhome.com), Moncton, with visitation on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning (September 22, 2007) at 11:00 a.m. from St. Anselm Church, Dieppe. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
